General condition and any additional information

This vessel is turn key. We are the original owners of Spirit. She is an awesome sail yacht. Very comfortable and easy to voyage on extended journeys. Our most testing sail ever was overnight (open water with current) in 42 gusting to 50 knot winds from a cold front which advanced farther than predicted. She safely handled these conditions even with the dinghy/motor in the davits as usual. She easily achieves 3 to 4 knots of speed in 6 to 8 knot winds forward of the beam. Usually sails 6 plus knots and we have enjoyed breaking 9 knots in 20 knot winds. Closely 1/3 ballast to displacement ratio with a lead keel that wont corrode. On our recent 3-month trip to Bahamas, we sailed from West Palm Beach to Green Turtle Cay only using about 2 hours engine time to attain anchorage or where wind on the bow.

Since 2019 we have completed extensive refurbishments of Spirit on most all systems including the removal and descaling of one holding tank, cleaning of the other and replacement of sanitary hoses.

The new solar array is wired in series by two and parallel by 4. The system runs the two Adler Barbour fridge/freezers 24/7 plus TV, stereo, computer and lights with 4 225-watt 6-volt wet cell batteries. Batteries are usually recharged by 10 am and if not, no later than 1 pm.

The davit system carries the dinghy with motor and all safety equipment with gas tank easily. Launches in about a minute and ready to go. Retrieves in about 5 minutes by hand or electric winch. This dinghy combo is able to pull the yacht should the need arise and is capable of traveling to very far destinations. The dinghy remains clean and safe every night in the davits.

The davits, hard top and hard bimini truly set this boat apart from her sister 460s. Easy to wash and maintain, it is an exceptional outdoor living area for extended times in the sun or weather.

Spirit is equipped with bug screens to close the entire below deck plus 8 cabin fans for comfort. Most of the Lewmar hatches have been replaced in the last two years.

The 45-degree companion way steps make ascending or descending easy while carrying things or for persons with limited mobility or children or pets. Beside the standard washboards, there is also a custom locking door for the companion way that opens and closes very easily to keep bugs out and air conditioning in. The cabin sole is all one level necessary to step over a partition only for the heads.

We use a king size sheet on the forward cabin bed unless the separator wall is reinserted to change the forward cabin into two cabins. Very comfortable and spacious as one cabin with overhead hatches, cabin fans and LED reading lights.

Extensive spares inventory on board.

There are many more features to Spirit such as the opening tempered glass windows on the hard top, the Dolphin Seat at the bow and other items that complete this vessel.

This yacht is clean, turnkey, load and go. Ready for extended cruising.
